You walk into the post office and who’s there to greet you? A 7 foot Alligator!

That’s exactly what happened on June 9th, 2021 in Spring Hill, Florida. According to the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to the U.S Post Office facility located at 8501 Philatelic Road in Spring Hill, at 3:32am, in reference to a 7-foot alligator roaming the lobby area.
The alligator surprised a customer who came to the post office to mail a package. This post office location features automatic double doors that allow entrance into the lobby.
Deputies called a trapper who responded and safely removed the alligator from the lobby.
